She is the Diva of the Taiwanese Opera, singing the most beautiful aria from Taiwan. Her postures are always acting. On stage, or off stage, her life is full of stories. From the sideman to the diva of the Taiwanese opera, Chiung-Chih Liao was first regarded as the best actress who can play the sad scenes with tears. Sometime later, she became world renowned Taiwanese opera diva. Her life is full of surprises.
Liao joined one little known Taiwanese opera troupe when she was twelve because her family was too poor to afford her living expenses. From then on, Taiwanese opera became one part of her life. Although this genre of music has gone down slope, she strives to teach few students who would like to continue the tradition.
Liao has earned numerous awards for her accomplishment. One biography was published to record her fifty year career. Being seventy-four years old, Laio makes her plan to retire. With this concert, NCO tries to pay tributes to her legendary career.
