六賊亂政的朝代，泉州有一個琴藝高超、性格冷傲的音樂家顧林隱，因娶了秦淮河畔的名妓江錦瑟為妻，引起王子公孫的妒恨。他厭倦送往迎來的俗世生活而避居貂山，過著與世隔絕的日子，以為從此可以過著神仙佳侶的幸福生活。誰知他一首諷刺朝廷的歌曲「六月寒」觸怒當朝，巡撫莫言可奉命將他入罪逮捕。幼女慕香滿周歲的一天，正是顧林隱一家四口生離死別的劫難……

Lin-Yin Ku was an outstanding yet aloof musician who lived in the late Northern Song Dynasty when the empire was manipulated by six treacherous courtiers. His marriage with the famous courtesan Chin-Se Chiang made him the target of aristocrats’s jealousy; for a quieter and more peaceful life, Ku left the mundane world with his family. Unfortunately, he was accused of satirizing the court with his song Chill in the Sixth Month, and on his daughter Hsiang Mu’s birthday, he was sent to prison by the official Yen-Ke Mo... The family was thus separated by an unpredictable and tragic fate.
