旅美作曲家蕭泰然的大提琴、鋼琴協奏曲，先後由知名華裔獨奏家范雅志、湯崇生世界首演，讓他從民族樂派的鄉土作曲家躍升國際樂壇。蕭 泰然作品刻劃春風內抑、菩提夢露的東方情感，因而有「台灣的拉赫瑪尼諾夫—最後的浪漫主義鋼琴詩人」的美譽。而一生顛沛流離的拉赫瑪 尼諾夫，最終落腳美利堅，這首交響舞曲為生命的最後回眸，顧盼於清晨、午后、黃昏的客途遺憾中，帶著惆悵的浪漫情懷令人動容。 由紐約曼哈頓音樂學院背景的NSO大提琴首席熊士蘭以絃情挑、以鋒悸動，鋼琴新星張巧縈以英國皇家音樂院最高榮譽、英國青年藝術家機構 演奏家身分，悠遊於東方人獨具的鍵海琴域。而能讓情韻成渠、行旅落定的，非指揮界翹楚簡文彬不可！

Since the premiere of his cello and piano concerto by noted soloist Fang Ya-Zhi and Tang Chong-Sheng respectively, Hsiao Tyzen has been considered much more than a nationalist musician, but an international star. His work is full of eastern emotions that are constrained but supreme, hence gaining the reputation as the“Taiwanese Rachmaninoff, the last romantic piano poet”. Rachmaninoff, on the other hand, traveled in destitution all his life before he finally settled in the States. Symphonic Dances is his final reflection.
